Well, Friday night after work, I headed down to Lake Placid.  I got to Mom and Dad's house at around 3:30am.
I think I got up at about 6:00am to the sound of people.  I walked out of my room to see someone brushing his teeth in my bathroom and five other people walking around the house.  Evidently, I've turned into a hermit because I couldn't handle it, so I went outside for a bit.

We had a decent turn-out to the event.  I can't believe my sixth-grade social studies teacher has now joined the group.  That's kinda creepy.  Nah, that's really creepy.  Her triplets are now in high school (even more creepy).  She still talks about my sixth grade project on the Navajo Code Talkers (sincerely creepy).

I'm pretty good at throwing hatchets at targets, apparently.  Woo!  That should go on my resume.
And, the practice in Girl Scouts must've stuck... because I'm not too terribly shabby at archery.

Grandma joined the group when we went out to the winery.  That was fun.  We had strawberry milkshakes.  Mmmm.
There's just something adorable about my 83-year old grandmother in garb.  =)

It was great to see Mom, Dad, and Grandma.... I just wish we'd had more alone time.

While visiting Grandma at her house, I needed to get a straw.  Just like I've done for the past...16 years or so, I reached into the drawer near the refrigerator, pulled out the same exact Pringles can as always, and got one.  And then I realized just how happy such a simple thing makes me.  I love the fact that it's the same can.  I love that something so simple has lasted so long.  Man, I find the dumbest things endearing.

This weekend was superb.  Awesome.  Fantastical.  (You get the idea...)

It was really nice to meet Dan, Darlene's boyfriend.  I definately can see him being a good friend of mine.

Halloween Horror nights was awesome.  This fact probably had something to do with the fact that we never waited more than about five minutes for any single ride or attraction.  And the large amount of alcohol that was consumed whilest there.  Regardless of why, it was still great!

I got hit on twice at the outlet mall in Orlando when I ventured out on my own Saturday morning.  Hillarious.  One guy even called me after I left there.  *snort*

I can still make a kickass fire (no, really - a real fire), so that was fun to do Saturday at Darlene's dad's house.

Dan's roommate was hillarious.  God help the world around us if we ever get drunk out on the town with one another.  We could do some serious damage as a team.

Awww, and the fun thing of the day was the random toll booth guy (TBG) just before I got on the turnpike returning home.
ME:  *rolls window down*
TBG:  "Good afternoon, how are you?"
ME:  *hands toll money*  Just fine, thanks.  You?
TBG:  "Great.  It's nice to get to see such a beautiful woman."
ME:  *laughs*  "Just another perk of the job, huh?"  *smiles*
TBG:  "It is today!"  *smiles*

Adorable.

Pictures to come - once I find my friggin' card reader!!
HOORAY for a fantastic weekend!!!

Well, I woke up Friday feeling like total ass.  I also knew I had a long drive after work, so I didn't go to class. =(  Poo on me.
Worked from 12:30pm until 9:00pm, then I got on the road.
Road.  Ro-ad.  That's a funny word.

Anyhow, I started my drive at around 9:30pm.  In Ocala, I stopped to get some dinner at the BK Lounge.  While standing in line I got a call from Gerrett's number.  Gerrett was calling to tell me that Joey was in the middle of doing a roadside-sobriety test; and that surely she was headed to jail.  Fan-fuckting-tastic.  On the plus side, the cop was an absolute dick and wouldn't listen to her as she told him that she was a Type I diabetic and her sugar was crashing - and that she needed to test it.  He wouldn't let her test at the scene (11:18pm), and they didn't test her until after 1:30am.  By the time they tested her sugar, she was at 33.  THIRTY-THREE.  Yeah.  That, plus a lawyer, and she should be fine.  Asshole officer.  Gah.  I got home (Lake Placid) at about 3:30am.  Daddy was already awake (as he was working the opening shift at Home Depot), so we chatted for about an hour before he had to leave.

It was really hard not to see Muffy there.  I miss her a lot.  Her grave is pretty bare right now; though Mom and Dad plan to add to it and create a garden for her.  I miss her so much.

Mom and I went shopping Saturday morning and didn't do much else that day.  Joe M didn't call me  like he said he would (per the norm); and I'm really questioning why I try to maintan a friendship with someone like that (yes, this has happened multiple times).  So, alas, I hate to do it, but there's not going to be pro-active "friendship" effort on my part anymore.  If he values the friendship, he'll come to me and say that.  Mom made dinner (I helped some) and we ate together as a family (which was nice).

Sunday we somehow ended up shopping again.  Whoops.  But, after that I worked on cataloging some of the books Mom wants to sell on Ebay.  We invited Grandma over for dinner and had a rotisserie chicken dinner.  Mmmm.  I got the remainder of my birthday presents from the family.  We played double-nine dominos.  (w00t!)  A good time was had by all.

Monday morning, Mom, Grandma and I all headed down to the Royal Palms Bowling Center.  I love bowling with them.  I had a blast.  And, after watching National Treasure with Mom, it was about time for me to pack up and leave.  I really miss them.  All in all, I had a wonderful weekend.

WOW. Long weekend.
Fun. Long. Wet. Garb-y.
Left T-Town late, =(.
We didn't get to the site in Ocala until about 8:30pm.
Of course, Mom and the rest of the Shire had already set-up camp.
Raise your hand if you felt like a turd. *raises hand*

I was so incredibly hot that night that I slept with a fan ON my face.
Not "next to", not "beside", not "really, really close to me"; no. I slept with a fan ON my freaking face. So naturally, I woke up the next morning with my throat feeling like the icy grip of death had been upon it. YAY. Now I think I have tonsillitis.

Saturday was good. Walked around, went swimming, bitched about how hot it was. Fun was had by all. Honestly though, it was great to see Mom. Court was long but amusing. Feast was quite good, despite issues being had with others in the group. I passed out, though, without so much as attempting to party that night.

Sunday we woke up relatively early. I got a nice shower and the day began. Mom and I went merchanting (shopping). I got a pretty band (for my finger) and I got her a windchime for Christmas (she doesn't know about it yet). Later, I found some trim for my court outfit so Mom can make the bodice reversible. Also, I made friends with the merchant I was buying the trim from and I got a beautiful sterling ring for $5, a unique collapsible candelabra for $4.00 and she GAVE me a skirt; also, from the merchant next to her, I got a beautiful wooden mortal and pestal set for $3.50. Woo.

Mom was kidnapped Sunday night. =) By ME. We snuck out of camp and went to a restaurant for dinner. Mom got that steak she was craving and we got to have one meal where the idiocy of others in the group wasn't looming around. I really miss my Mommy.

Monday morning was time to load up. We broke camp and were out of the site by 9:30, methinks. I know we were on the road by 10:00am at the latest.

Whew. Busy weekend. And, Suzi was nice enough to watch the kitties while we were out of town, so I didn't come home to a destroyed house. Yay!
